My name is Tero Tolkki and I am the creator of Metal From Finland. Been a fun ride since 2007. I live in Finland (duh) and I hate these introductions

Anyways I welcome all the oldies and the new ppl back to our Discussion Board, let's have fun here!

My name is Jessikar and I am an editor of MFF. Apart from this I also run WS USA and Damned & Divine Webzine. I live in USA. I also hate doing these intros as I never know what to write.

BTW did you notice I brought the latest topics to the frontpage in www.metalfromfinland.com

I think those will serve well when people start getting back here. It refreshes the threads in every 15 minutes there.

Welcome Kuina, well for sure you have a good taste in music cause Tarot was one of my first finnish metal bands I fell in love with...Zero Nine was the first.

Hello Kuina and welcome! I have not really listened to Tarot, but being a fan of Marco I am sure to like it.

O hai. I'm Arina, and I joined MFF some time in summer 2007. In 2010 I permanently moved to Finland to study Music and Media Management and work here in the music business. Huge fan of Tarja and concerts in general. That pretty much sums it up.

Well, it was one of my first finnish band too, a friend talk me about them and I fell in love with them

Well Tarot was one of the first...I'd say one of the first 5. After that came bands like Stone, Airdash, Stratovarius, tons of thrash bands in the late 80's

Hi, I'm Laura. I'm a big fan of Nightwish, Tarot, early Dreamtale, Terasbetoni... basically anything Marco or Jarkko touches turns to gold. (I'm astounded the universe didn't implode with the recording of We Don't Need Another Hero.) I enjoy complex melodies with clean vocals, long walks on the beach, and think the harpsichord is one of the most metal instruments ever invented. My other favorite bands are Sonata Arctica (strictly pre-Unia) Edguy, Iron Maiden, and Rush. I forgive the latter three for not being Finnish and hope you will too.

I discovered MFF about two or three years ago and have been quietly hooked ever since.

Thank you! I saw your reply about Nightwish and am about to respond. It's nice to have an actual grown-up exchange for a change; the only other Nightwish fan I know is my three-and-a-half-year-old son. He has about half a dozen songs memorized and believes every blond man with a beard we see to be Marco Hietala.

Hi! I'm Sorcha, 21 years and from the Netherlands. My main occupation is (or at least should be) being a student. My favorite Finnish band must be Tarot.

Keep in ming though that every is entitled to their opinions, even about Tarja. Only thing that won't be tolerated is hatred towards other forum members. But when it's about artists and bands the word should be free

Hi everybody, I'm Greg from Pittsburgh Pennsylvania. I stumbled onto Amorphis when I caught them live in NYC back in 2005, shortly after Tomi Joutsen had joined the band. I'd love to find more of Finland's finest metal to enjoy.

Hello all,
I am an old school metal fan mainly, but I listen to so many different bands that it is almost impossible for me to choose a favorite, so I have to divide it up sub genre. If I had to pick a favorite band from Finland, it would have to be Sentenced because of their morbid sense of humor in some of their songs. Reminds me of Monty Python a bit..
