Favorite Finnish guitarist(s)

Okay, I decided to do another favorite guitarist thread. This one however is ONLY favorite Finnish guitarists. Anyways here is my top 5 list:


1. Jari Mäenpää (Wintersun)
2. Zachary Hietala (Tarot)
3. Emppu Vuorinen (Nightwish)
4. Antti Kokko (Kalmah)
5. Mikko Salovaara (Kiuas)

Hmm, I'd go with:

Jari Mäenpää
Jani Liimatainen
Tuomas Seppälä
Alexi Laiho
Roope Latvala

Not necessarily in this exact sequence. I like Emppu's style, too, he just plays too many solos that are too lame or short for my taste.

Yeah, I forgot to mention Roope. He was at his best in Stone I think.

Mine is the amazing and ultra-charming Pasi Sipilä of CHARON. Excellent musician and also seems to be a great person. I'm not into very technical stuff, I'm just after the good rhythm and sound.
I will come with a list later... I guess that my top guitarists are all from my top bands. So there will be Petri Lindroos and such...

Miika Tenkula (R.I.P)

Without knowing too much about the technical aspect of playing guitar, here's mine (which are basically the same as everyone elses):

So... umm.. I'm back but I didn't make my list Probably because my favorite ones were already mentioned by you. It's Petri Lindroos, Miika Tenkula, Roope Latvala, Emil Pohjalainen (Thaurorod, Amberian Dawn), Jarmo Puolakanaho (EToS), then guys from Mors Principium Est and Shade Empire.. etc.

Pohjalainen and Puolakanaho are also interesting choices that I hadn't thought of. (Besides his guitar skills, I envy Emil's hair, too! )

And the Oscar goes to....Marko Utriainen!

His solos are really powerful!

He is great! And of course very underrated too!

Yes , I know. He can be small , but when he takes the guitar in his hands , he is bigger that anyone!

I also like how he puts a lot of feeling into his notes and playing (pitch shifting, whammy bar, etc.). Not too many guitarists do that anymore. That is what makes him unique. Plus he has great acoustic guitar skills too, as noticed on Angels Fall First of course!

Me still with Wildchild but probably the best and most sexiest Bodom album solo wise is Follow The Reaper

Yeah, I still think Kissing the Shadows is his best stuff too! I haven't heard a better keyboard/guitar duel better in a Bodom song yet!
